Who's been looking after Katie?

Yesterday Katie had some special 'Katie-sitters'. In the morning it was Grandad Jeff's turn to look after Katie. There are two things wrong with this photo. Can you guess what they are?

So not only was Katie playing with daddy's toy rather than her own, but she was sitting on the sofa!

However, Grandad redeemed himself later when he gave Katie some great tummy time and she had lots of fun.

Then in the afternoon, it was Gemma's turn. Now for those of you who don't know Gemma you can tell from the photos that she is very holy as she got Katie to read her bible.

Always a difficult choice for dad's this one - save the baby or take the photo!

The joys of being a mum

I put a jumper on today. During the morning I noticed that there was a patch of dried sick, must've been from the day before. I just picked it off. Later on, Katie wiped her nose over my shoulder and left a trail of baby bogies. Nice. Again, I just wiped it off. A little bit later whilst changing Katie's nappy she performed with one of her explosive poos. A tiny bit of it hit the sleeve of my jumper. I just wiped it off. Katie got rather excited after I gave her a big cuddle and left a load of dribble on my other shoulder. I wiped it off. I then had my lunch and I spilt some of the pasta sauce down the front of my jumper. It was at this point that I decided to put it in the wash and put a clean one on.

Bye Bye

Today marks another first for Katie - she waved! What a big achievement for someone so small.

At first we thought it was just a random arm movement, but we got everyone we saw to wave at her and she definitely moved her arm in a wave like motion.

Go Katie

Musical Katie

Katie has been developing some more skills. Today, Katie has been practicing her sitting up whilst singing along to McFly and playing with her musical instruments (that lovely nanny Gemma bought her for Christmas). She had a great time but then it all got a bit too much for her.

A couple of weeks ago, Katie had her first piano lesson from daddy. We think she was keen and no doubt this was the first of many.

Has anyone seen Katie?

Every Sunday we take Katie to church with us. As soon as we get through the door, someone is there wanting a cuddle from her. So off she goes. When it's time to go home, we have to go on a Katie hunt. We've no idea where she is. We're pretty sure she'll be safe, someone somewhere will be giving her a cuddle, but we're just not sure who or where. Are we bad parents?

Water Baby

Uncle Ian and Auntie Tina bought Katie a bunch of swimming lessons for Christmas, and yesterday she had her first one. (See Waterbabies for more details)

It was great, she loved it. It is basically about getting babies to enjoy the water using games and songs and lots of encouraging smiles from mums and dads.

Here are a couple of pics for you all. For those of you who were previously worried about Katie's weight, as you will see, it is no longer a problem! And also just so you know, we did not choose those swimming trunks, all the babies have to wear them!

Thank you Uncle Ian & Auntie Tina
