Ain't misbehavin'

It's an interesting time at the moment because it's only recently that Katie can choose to misbehave. I guess before now, she didn't know what was right or wrong but now there are a few occasions where she is consciously naughty. She is funny. Sometimes she'll look to see if anyone is watching before she'll press the CD eject button. And when she is found out, she often rubs her hands down her front - literally wiping her hands of it all! It seems that is built into our DNA!

We have a bit of a battle in the bath too - trying to stop her from standing up. When we tell her to sit down - she pretends to and as soon as you say "good girl" she's back on her feet giggling! It's not a good start when you're trying to tell her off and she thinks it's a game!

We wonder whether now would be a good time for the old "I'll count to three" trick. Or do we need a naughty chair?!

It's not a major issue - but we just want her to be happy, for her to be safe and not to learn too many bad habits that need to be addressed in the future.

Solo steps

Today was a good day. Katie took her first solo steps. It was great to see. We didn't actually see the first ones, they were taken in nursery, but she took a few more later in the day and we were thrilled to see them.

Katie has grown so much over the past few weeks and she really is interacting with us now. It is wonderful. There have been lots of occasions that make us go 'ah', because she is so lovely and loving. Recently she has become much more touchy feely and has been asking us for cuddles. She has learnt how to blow kisses which is cute, though it can appear a little forward when she meets new people!
